🎄We would like to wish all our children, families and local community a very happy Christmas.🎄 Our Christmassy week started with a very special visit from Father Christmas and his elves. We enjoyed a lovely Christmas lunch with Christmas music, crackers and Christmas jumpers before our Carol Service in the church. Lovely singing and recorder playing from all. We also enjoyed a brilliant trip to #westlandsentertainmentvenue to see Beauty and the Beast. 🌟We thank you for all your support this past year and look forward to the new year. #smallschool #Membury #Christmas

Last week, our Year 3 and 4 children got hands-on with their science learning, exploring the digestive system in a fun and interactive way. They learned about the different parts of the digestive system and how everything works together to help our bodies process food. 🍓🍌 DT Highlights This Week! 🛠️🏗️ KS1 had a fruit-tastic time applying their chopping and juicing skills to whip up delicious smoothies — healthy, hands-on fun! 🥤🍍 Meanwhile, KS2 got creative and constructive, building the frame structures of their pavilions. They explored how to join shapes and make them strong — future architects in the making! 🏕️🔧 Well done to all our budding designers and engineers! 👏✨

Today, we came together to honour the anniversary of Victory in Europe (VE) Day. The children took part in discovering the significance of this historic day and why it continues to matter. They listened attentively to Winston Churchill’s iconic speech, gaining insight into the emotions and relief felt across the nation in 1945. We then celebrated with a joyful ‘street party’ style gathering, complete with music, decorations, and plenty of smiles! 📚Today we celebrated World Book Day!📖 The children took part in an Ultimate Character Championship Battle where they developed their oracy skills to present their character. Monkey form Bunny vs Monkey by Jamie Smart won! Later, we held a book tasting to try some different books. 🎶We had great fun learning the ukulele with our visitors, Elfyn and Kip. In just one afternoon, we learnt to sing and play the chords for four songs, and each child had the opportunity to compose our own music! Our afternoon culminated in a 'mash-up' of the different songs we had learnt, which was great fun, and showed how much we had learnt as we switched between the different chords - sometimes really quickly!🎵 #ukulele #devonmusichub #smallschool #music
